YOUR DREAM OPPORTUNITY

As the Group Finance Manager, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will be both hands-on and strategic with a focus on managing the Groups statutory financial reporting, tax compliance, banking and inventory management. Additionally, you will oversee robust controls across the group and foster enhanced finance capabilities within a forward-thinking team.

As our Group Finance Manager, you can expect to: 

Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation of the Group’s monthly and year-end consolidated financial reporting, both for management and statutory purposes.
  • Month-end:
    • Lead the month-end process for the Group’s Australian legal entities.
    • Ensure timely completion and consistency across all Group entities
  • Maintain ownership of the general ledger, ensuring data integrity, and conduct monthly reviews of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in overseeing accounting systems, acting as a champion for finance ERP Netsuite and inventory management system.
  • Drive improvements in the quality and timeliness of financial information shared with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and support the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting process, collaborating with relevant business partners.
  • Engage in strategic business partnerships with international markets and key head office functions.

Statutory Audit and Compliance:

  • Lead the global end-to-end audit process, coordinating with subsidiary finance teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial results.
  • Handle consolidation and preparation of financial statements for the group.
  • Ensure adherence to IFRS and other accounting standards across the Group, including areas of judgment such as IFRS 16, cloud computing, and impairment.
  • Collaborate with the Group Financial Controller and CFO on technical accounting decisions.
  • Provide information and reports to the Audit Committee and address queries.

Tax:

  • Lead the Group’s global tax affairs, including:
  • Drive the group’s tax governance framework and related initiatives.
  • Lead Transfer Pricing strategies and compliance.
  • Own group tax software/technologies.
  • Maintain relationships with external tax advisors.
  • Manage the Group’s Australian tax affairs, including:
  • Prepare and manage the group’s Australian Income Tax return.
  • Manage other Australian indirect tax lodgements, including GST and FBT.

Inventory Oversight and Management:

  • Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting related to inventory, including inventory valuation adjustments and inventory-related expenses.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for effective inventory management across the group.
  • Oversee the Group’s inventory procurement model, partnering with buying agents to ensure end-to-end visibility and control of inventory movements, liabilities and payments.
  • Monitor obsolete stock risks.

Banking and Treasury:

  • Administer all bank accounts and the corporate card facility.
  • Prepare quarterly covenant calculations and compliance certificates for the banking group.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing Finance team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and change leadership within the team.
  • Establish the finance team as a critical partner to other business leaders and teams through effective stakeholder management and collaboration.
  • Represent finance in business-led initiatives and projects, including system implementations, integrations, and process improvements/automation.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU OFFER US

  • CA/CPA Qualified.
  • Minimum of 10 years' work experience, with 5 years of extensive leadership experience in a similar role, preferably within a retail environment or a global organisation.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, coupled with broad technical accounting and tax knowledge.
  • Adaptive and flexible, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, positive, and resilient leader with a proven track record in people management and developing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through effective stakeholder management.
