First Assistant Director-General Network Operations and Access


As the First Assistant Director-General Network Operations and Access you will lead Australian Signals Directorate’s (ASD) high-tempo Network Operations and Access division, to deliver on ASD’s purpose - to defend Australia against global threats and advance our national interests through the provision of foreign signals intelligence and offensive cyber operations as directed by the Australian Government.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Deputy Director-General Signals Intelligence and Network Operations to direct and oversee a busy operational division responsible for delivering critical outcomes for ASD’s mission.

The role requires a demonstrated ability to build future organisational capability and anticipate ASD’s future needs. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading an operational and technical workforce, and the sound judgment to manage competing network operations and access requirements in an evolving strategic environment.

The successful applicant will also have the demonstrated ability to operate in accordance with, and actively promote ASD’s values and the Defence Leadership Behaviours, which will continue to be adopted and implemented within ASD. Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing basis or for a specified term. To be eligible for engagement, an applicant must be a permanent Australian citizen. This is a security-designated position. The successful applicant will be required to undergo security assessments to the highest level and must be able to be cleared to Top Secret Positive Vetting.
