We now have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Planning and Capital Development to join our team. The position is full time, fixed-term for 5 years and based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, in picturesque tropical North Queensland. A competitive remuneration package is on offer which includes 17% superannuation, leave loading and an attractive base salary.

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE 

As a creative thinker in a senior position of influence, you will deliver transformative and sustainable capital works and commercial development services to reshape and renew JCU’s Estate. You will use visionary leadership to drive organisational change by delivering targeted capital works, sustainable infrastructure, campus amenities and management of a real property portfolio.

 

Delivering the University’s Capital Works Plan, you will provide strategic direction and recommendations to various committees for the development and implementation of Estate related plans. As a senior leader you will have considerable influence and responsibility for the short-, medium- and long-term planning and decisions pertaining to the composition and utilization of JCU’s owned and leased Estate.

 

Leading a team of project and property professionals, your ability to navigate the complexities of a large and diverse organization while building a culture of high performance, customer service excellence, promoting respect, inclusion and wellbeing will be paramount to your success in this challenging yet rewarding role.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE 

Your advanced critical thinking, analytical and proven leadership skills coupled with your extensive capital works, planning and commercial development expertise will ensure you are a trusted advisor to the University and senior leadership in Estate management.

 

Your ability to traverse strategic, operational and tactical planning to deliver tangible and sustainable outcomes through effective resource utilisation will be second to none. Appreciating that motivating and supporting your people to deliver exceptional services while also achieving their own goals will ensure you lead an engaged, safe and healthy team who assist you to deliver measurable outcomes for the University.

 

Whilst not mandatory, it would be advantageous to have experience in a University setting, public relations and of contemporary pedagogical space planning and design.
