Senior Executive Service Band 1
Salary may be negotiated with the successful candidate
Canberra - ACT
We are seeking to attract talented candidates for positions at the Senior Executive Service (SES) Band 1 level that will contribute to ASD’s mission and have relevant skills to work in a critical, operational cyber security role.
ASD is currently undergoing a significant transformation – doubling in size, expanding its presence both nationally and globally, and delivering significant new and enhanced intelligence and security capabilities for Australia. As a senior leadership in ASD, you will have an important role leading this change.
We have one role currently available:
• The Assistant Director-General Incident Management (reference #5508) is responsible for delivering national, whole-of-economy cyber incident response and management functions to keep Australians secure online and safeguard Australia’s sensitive information and networks. The role is responsible for managing a diverse, dispersed and specialist workforce that provides technical advice and assistance to victims of cyber incidents. The role requires development and maintenance of strong relationships with the broadest range of industry stakeholders and partners, and the ability to lead in a high-tempo and demanding environment. If interested in this role, please apply for job ASD/09172/23.
In all SES Band 1 positions, you will have responsibility for leading a Branch through ASD’s current transformation, while continuing to deliver on the operational requirements of the position. You will work closely with international partners, and will manage an Australia-wide workforce.
As part of the Senior Leadership Group, you will play a key role in promoting and influencing a shared commitment to the strategic direction of ASD as the Australian Government’s foreign signals intelligence, offensive cyber, and cyber security agency. You will influence the strategic direction of ASD and work with colleagues across the Defence portfolio and Government to achieve results.
Successful applicants will exemplify ASD’s values and engender a culture of achievement, collaboration and agility. You will be self-aware, and will encourage and respect the diversity of ideas and perspectives that defines ASD’s workforce.
