Head of People Operations- Country Road Group

 

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Head of People Operations role leads and inspires COE’s of WHS & Injury Management, Talent Acquisition, People Assist and Workforce Management. This role is also responsible for our Group People Policies and is a critical member of the People Leadership Team.

This role will suit an experienced, highly talented, driven and commercially astute HR professional passionate about operational excellence and process optimisation in order to deliver seamless people services.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Collaborate with the Chief People Officer to develop and deliver the People strategy.
  • Support the Chief People Officer in leading a function that is recognised and valued as a centre of excellence, proactively sharing insights that add value.
  • Establish a cohesive framework across the service areas, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
  • Be a strong change agent for the function, actively driving opportunities to optimise and standardise across our businesses, ensuring we have people experience front of mind in everything we do. 
  • In collaboration with the Group Communications Manager, establish the People Team brand and tone of voice.
  • Understand employee-related statutory requirements and design work processes and standards in alignment with these requirements.
  • Provide thought leadership and oversight on the implementation of people-wide tools, systems, platforms and processes.
  • Collaborate with COE leaders, and Head’s of People to translate business and HR needs into leading practice, cost effective and high-quality HR services.
  • Drive process excellence through partnership with other parts of the People function, such as Payroll, ER, People Partnering.
  • Drive organisational effectiveness and change management, partnering to support new initiatives, significant policy changes, process improvements, adoption of new tools, and other key activities.
  • Manage people policy development, review and governance and develop reporting and dashboards for people services.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following;

  • Previous experience in a leadership role in HR, including responsibility for implementing business improvement programs
  • Experience leading teams delivering services in a complex business model
  • Knowledge and experience of operating in the relevant regulatory/statutory environments and markets
  • Passion for delivering excellence through collaborating and working in partnership with others
  • Relentless focus on business priorities and opportunities to create enhanced value and improved outcomes
  • Demonstrate critical leadership capabilities including; organising, planning, influencing, innovation, change leadership, decisiveness and collaboration
