This is a temporary full time position which is currently funded until 30 June 2024.  There is a strong possibility of an extension with the expectation of ongoing funding for a further 3+ years.

What you'll be doing

The Head to Health Kids Hubs are a new initiative and will be designed to operate as a secondary level child mental health and wellbeing service, targeting mild to moderate emerging complexity for children aged 0-12 years. The Kids Hubs are intended to complement and integrate with current child health and family services already provided in communities.

The Service Manager will provide strong leadership, direction and strategic planning for the Head to Health Kids Hub which is based in Wollongong and outreaching to Shoalhaven.  The manager will be responsible for budget, activity, workforce, risk and incident management and the daily management of services provided under the program stream.  The role will expand as the model is developed and integration of services is identified.  The manager must ensure that the practice of all staff is safe and efficient whilst maintaining the National Standards.

The manager is responsible for the management of the business/management of the service and they must model the CORE Values and the Code of Conduct.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria

  1. A degree in a relevant field such as Health, Behavioural Science, Social Sciences and a combination of study or relevant work experience along with a current drivers licence and willingness to travel to other locations within the District.
  2. Demonstrated experience and a proven ability to take a strategic view to lead, manage and organise an integrated service platform (time, financial, human, materials, and facilities).
  3. In depth understanding of the child development, and ability to apply this into the vulnerability and consequences of that vulnerability.
  4. A proven ability to work within and build effective teams, develop culture and build relationships and strategic partnerships with key stakeholders including key government, non-government and community partners.
  5. Demonstrated experience with developing new and innovative business opportunities.
  6. Demonstrated extensive experience in project management, including planning, implementation and evaluation activities.
  7. Demonstrated experience in running a service including responsibility for service performance, operational and budget management.
  8. Demonstrated understanding of how this role would contribute to the District vision of excellent services, quality partnerships and healthy communities.
