Job Description

The City of Stonnington has a unique leadership opportunity available for an accomplished Manager to lead our diverse Active Communities teams and foster a culture supporting elevated levels of performance and achievement. Reporting directly to the Director, Community & Wellbeing, the Manager Active Communities, you will take responsibility for representing the Council across a range of important inner metro projects including Percy Treyvaud Master Plan and Toorak Park Master Plan whilst ensuring effective partnerships with all stakeholders. 

As a key member of Council’s senior management team, you will drive key strategic initiatives, discover exciting opportunities to improve programs, infrastructures and offerings for the Council and the community that drives growth and improves the status of the City of Stonnington as a desirable place to invest, live, work and play. 

Desired Skills and Experience

With your extensive senior leadership experience, you will have a strong sense of vision and proven ability to negotiate, influence, and manage multi-disciplinary projects with a complexity of conflicting community and political needs and requirements. You will have the aptitude for strategic leadership with a genuine passion and commitment to lead and provide a collaborative, inspirational and constructive culture for our people. 

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Recreation, Business management or related discipline, with extensive and diverse experience managing programs, delivering direct services, financial management and budgeting. It will be an advantageous for the successful candidate to have knowledge and experience in active communities such as aquatics, community facilities and venue management.

This is a full time contract role with a renumeration package of $165k - $185k plus superannuation and optional vehicle included.
