Attorney-General Michaelia Cash says laws about religious discrimination and online trolls will dominate the final days of parliament before the next election.

Senator Cash says work on a federal integrity commission will be put aside while the government pursues other changes.

The government wants to ensure passage of the Religious Discrimination Act (allowing religious schools to expel gay students) and to amend privacy laws to silence online commentators.

Experts note that the planned ‘anti-troll’ laws will not help most victims of online trolling.

“They are the two bills the Prime Minister is fundamentally committed to,” she said in an interview with The Australian Financial Review.

No effort will be expended on the establishment of a Commonwealth Integrity Commission (CIC) (a promise from) the 2019 election) or class action reforms.
