Details of the new APS pay offer will be available soon.

The much-anticipated pay offer for Australian Public Service (APS) employees is set to be tabled by the commonwealth on May 16, following an enterprise bargaining conversation about proposed pay claims and salary setting.

The APS enterprise bargaining negotiations have seen unions and individual bargaining representatives canvassing issues affecting professional development, professional qualifications, classifications, work standards, and study assistance.

While the claims raised have been productive, no in-principle agreements have been reached yet.

The ongoing negotiations have also discussed a proposal for a joint review of classifications and work-level standards, which will remain under consideration as part of the APS-wide bargaining process.

Additionally, sabbatical leave and study leave may be resolved at the agency level if the differences across APS agencies are too significant to develop a common term.

In the upcoming meetings, parties will focus on issues concerning First Nations staff, including cultural, ceremonial, and NAIDOC leave.

Unions are expected to share a proposal for First Nations APS employment.

On May 11, proposed union and EBR pay claims will be proposed, alongside suggestions for salary setting and junior rates of pay.
