Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres and within a range of diverse environmental conditions, ranging from the arid dry of the central desert to the tropical monsoon of the top end. The corporation generates, transmits and distributes electricity, supplies water and wastewater treatment services across the Northern Territory (NT) for the benefit of residents, including remote and isolated Aboriginal communities and outstations.

We are looking for a Water Demand/Efficiency Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established water efficiency team in a role that’s focused on delivering water savings within remote communities in the Northern Region of the Northern Territory. The successful candidate will also contribute to the ongoing improvement of water efficiency behaviour change programs delivered throughout the Northern Territory.

We’re looking for someone who has a passion for water efficiency and sustainability. Practical experience in working with Aboriginal people in remote communities, experience in effectively communicating complex water related issues and messaging as well as having the willingness to travel to remote communities by small aircraft are all essential for this role. On top of this, the successful candidate will also have demonstrated knowledge of groundwater supply systems and an understanding of water demand management principles. Of equal importance to water and sustainability knowledge and skills, the successful candidate will be passionate about contributing to a strong collaborative team culture.

PWC values diversity in the workplace. Therefore, under an approved Special Measures Plan, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Aboriginal) applicants will be given priority selection, provided they meet all essential selection criteria and are suitable at the level commensurate with the position.
