Engineering Manager, In-Situ Measurement

Position Overview
The Bureau is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Manager to manage the In-Situ Measurement Team of 18 staff. This is a key leadership position within the Operational Technology and Engineering (OT&E) Section, which forms part of the Observing Systems and Operations (OSO) Program. The role provides leadership and advice to lead the development and implementation of processes that will ensure systematic delivery of quality engineering and technical outcomes for the Bureau's Automatic Weather Stations, Upper Air (including hydrogen and hogen), Flood Warning, Aviation Sensors and Solar Radiation networks.
The position will work closely with the related teams in Infrastructure Delivery, Business & Transformation, and the National Observing Operations teams along with other business areas of the organisation, to develop and implement and operationalise these capabilities.
The ideal candidate would have experience managing a team of technical staff, development of sensor technologies and coordinating outcomes that deliver to customer needs and public good.
