ASD EL2 - Deputy Director

The Role
The Deputy Director will work as part of a small executive team to steer a large intelligence production mission to deliver against high priority Australian Government intelligence requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a diverse and (in the future) distributed team, including providing clear and consistent communications, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, guiding and developing staff
- Engaging and influencing ASD senior management and providing the link between senior executives and ASD employees
- Providing strategic direction to staff, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities and evaluating business outcomes
- Ensuring adherence to legislative and policy requirements
- Build future mission capability
- Provide subject matter expertise and advice to ASD senior executives and to external customers on the missions within RI-SEA
- Represent ASD and work with stakeholders across Government and the National Intelligence Community to provide advice, influence outcomes and manage expectations.
- This role will require an individual with strong management and leadership skills.

ASD is a vital member of Australia’s national security community. We work across the full spectrum of operations required of contemporary signals intelligence and security agencies. This includes intelligence, cyber security and offensive cyber operations in support of the Australian Government and Australian Defence Force (ADF).
RI Branch is a multi-disciplinary workforce that conducts in-depth, complex research and analysis of foreign signals intelligence, technical data, and a wide range of policy issues.
