The 783 bed Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) will lead the way in 21st Century healthcare in Australia. To be opened in April 2014, FSH is designed for the needs of patients in a transformational healthcare environment. The flagship Western Australian hospital will be located in the new health, research and education precinct in Murdoch, just 15km from the CBD. The services will deliver best practice in clinical innovation, research and education, whilst fostering scientific, technological and medical excellence.
South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) is the fastest growing health service in Western Australia, with population growth prediction from 840,000 to more than 1 million by 2020. The Director of Clincial Services and Director of Nursing & Midwifery Services will be critical to the successful commissioning of the new FSH. Key services of the hospital include acute medical, surgical, adult/paediatric emergency, heart and lung transplant, cardiothoracic surgery, trauma, cancer, State rehabilitation and burns services, maternity and obstetrics, mental health and paediatrics.

As the Director of Clinical Services (DCS), you will build and lead a dynamic clinical workforce with a commitment to a ‘patient first’ ethos and value-based care. You will progress a culture of embracing contemporary best practices in service delivery in collaboration with other area clinical leaders and health executives to optimise care for patients throughout the area.This is a role for a highly experienced medical manager and clinical leader with exceptional ability to create and drive strategy; experienced in clinical governance and the ability to deliver to deadlines.
The successful candidate will be highly regarded by peers for their clinical credibility and demonstrate a commitment to teaching, training and accreditation of the medical workforce. Large tertiary hospital experience and the ability to build and attract a skilled medical workforce is key to your success. You have a reputation for:

The DON&MS will lead a professional workforce that is part of a total clinical workforce of 3,500, which will come together through relocation from other campuses and recruitment of new staff to build one culture focused on contemporary best practice service delivery and workforce models.
