Hours Per Week: up to 40
Duration: up to 12 months, expected commencement date February 2025

Applicants should have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or have obtained an appropriate higher qualification in his/her specialty acceptable to the Employer. For applicants without Fellowship there is potential to commence as a Provisional Fellow under the Public Hospital Medical Officers Award (Registrar 4th year) and on successful attainment of FRACS or appropriate AHPRA registration transition to a Post Graduate Fellow.

Purpose of the Position

Selection Criteria

1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or other recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded FRACS prior to or within 3 months after the advertised contract commencement date will be considered. Applicants with an alternate appropriate higher qualification in his/her specialty may be considered.

3. Appropriate experience to practice as a Post Graduate Fellow in Neurosurgery
4. Experience and willingness to teach junior medical staff and research.
5. Demonstrated ability to work in a complex hospital based clinical environment.
6. Health Professional experience required to undertake the key accountabilities for this role including experience in health-professional education, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Demonstrated commitment to development of scholarly and project skills relevant to this position.
