Remuneration: $171,777.07 - $175,659.15 per annum

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you’ll be doing
The Director of Pharmacy will provide operational direction, lead, guide and manage Pharmacy Services across Westmead Hospital. They will implement high levels of clinical expertise to provide high quality care to patients/clients and their carers consistent with NSW Health and Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) policies, procedures, industrial requirements, and standards. The Director of Pharmacy will also lead the strategic direction of Westmead Hospital Pharmacy Services, delivering comprehensive and innovative business solutions, in line with corporate and service priorities, focusing on delivering efficiencies and improved service user experience.
As the Director of Pharmacy you will be responsible for leading the Pharmacy Service at Westmead Hospital. You will have oversight for clinical excellence, financial governance, as well as compliance with legislation, accreditation, and industry standards. Our busy pharmacy service are a highly experienced and collaborative team who work closely to ensure high quality clinical standards.

Registration: in line with Award requirements
Selection Criteria:
- Recognised qualification in Pharmacy, current registration with APHRA with no restrictions on scope of practice and commitment to own professional development.
- Demonstrated operational management experience, effective financial management and innovative leadership in a high volume and demanding professional environment in a large hospital.
- Proven ability to provide leadership, strategic direction and apply strategic processes in the management of departmental resources and services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of professional and clinical issues relating to Hospital Pharmacy services with expert professional knowledge of methods, principles, practice and skills across client groups and work areas.
- Demonstrated experience with drug and therapeutics committees, medication safety initiatives, quality use of medicines and quality improvement activities, and risk management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, initiative, time management and commitment to clinical team building and experience and commitment to teaching, research and staff training.
- Ability to provide high level advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence.
