Lead and supervise a team of highly qualified individuals in the areas of Property, Rates, and Service Performance while promoting a positive and cooperative culture, prioritising excellent customer service, enhancing collaborative relationships and encouraging team engagement.
In addition to this, you will promote a climate of continual development and offer knowledgeable guidance by creating clear analytics and data presentations for all Finance customers and important stakeholders.
You will also:
Identify potential risks or opportunities in financial management, plan and problem solve to achieve good outcomes and use best practice risk management techniques.
Lead and monitor administrative operations of the unit and ensure compliance with pertinent deadlines and legal requirements. For instance, the setting and collecting of rates, lease and license responsibilities, property transactions, service performance evaluations and administration of team budget.
Provide expertise advice to Council/CEO/Executive Team about property & revenue procedures, practices, statutory obligations and management of real estate assets to produce positive results for the community.
This is a full-time permanent position with an attractive remunerationoffered. The exact amount will be dependent upon experience.
This is a hybrid role which means you can work both from home and within our bright, modern, and sustainable 311 Glenferrie Road office on the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road in Malvern where boutique stores, cafes and health clubs are in abundance. From the office you can easily walk to Malvern Gardens, High Street
Desired Skills and Experience
What you will need to thrive:
Management expertise and tertiary degree in an associated field.
Previous experience successfully managing large property portfolio either in local government/government or private sector.
Highly developed capacity to interpret and put into practise statutory provisions as they relate to local government property and income issues.
The ability to tackle complicated problems using well-developed assessment, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Outstanding oral and writing communication abilities, including the ability to create presentations, reports, policies, and other management documents.
Capacity to manage budget and contracts, as well as stakeholder negotiations.
