Group Product Manager - Cloud Engineering

About the role

In this position of a Group Product Manager – Cloud Platforms, you will report into the Platform Manager – Cloud Platforms within the Core Technology Services function.

The primary function of this role will be to:

  • Responsible for creating a product strategy and roadmap that delivers high quality customer experiences and improves business metrics
  • Utilizes OKRs to define objectives and key success measures for their squads
  • Defines backlog with their Squads, partners with the crew lead to ensure the backlog aligns with the business and product strategies. Frame product backlog in context of bigger picture and larger product roadmap and strategy
  • Manages and prioritises backlog to deliver on their quarterly objectives and key commercial outcomes
  • Accountable for the results (customer/business outcome) of their squads
  • Familiarity with top level inputs & metrics in order accurately identify problems
  • Responsible for end-to-end execution of their initiatives, from discovery to delivery
  • Responsible for managing one or more product managers and their respective squads.
  • Mentors’ product managers and utilizes creative methodology to improve team culture and product processes
  • Ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives. Fosters and maintains relationships stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment around backlog and priorities
  • Works closely with Product Managers across Crews to manage dependencies and risk
  • Communicates to stakeholders on progress of initiatives
  • Passionate about Coles and the customer problems we are solving

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Listens to our customer & stakeholders
  • Define the product vision, strategy and roadmap.
  • Gather, manage and prioritise product requirements across multiple squads and ensure all are heading towards an overarching goal
  • Communicate the product strategy to the team and broader Coles stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the engineering, experience and marketing teams to ensure that business case and customer satisfaction goals are met.
  • Navigate the organisation to identify and achieve solutions to business and customer problems
  • Protect and enhance Coles’ reputation with customers, stakeholders, regulators and media
  • Accountable for personal and team compliance with internal company policies, procedures and codes, e.g. Code of Conduct, and all applicable external laws, regulations, standards and industry codes e.g. Fair trading Laws
  • Commitment to the corporate and or relevant Brand/ Retail Support Compliance Program
  • Accountable for the commercial outcomes from each Product Owner in team.
  • Accountable for individual and team compliance with company values, policies and procedures (including Coles Code of Conduct) and all applicable external laws and regulations.
  • Embedding compliance requirements into business planning and practices.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective governance practices across areas of responsibility.
  • Leading a strong governance and compliance culture amongst team.
  • Resolving, managing and reporting compliance incidents.
  • Ensuring team member compliance, training and development is adequately addressed.
  • Accountable for individual compliance with company values, policies and procedures (including Coles Code of Conduct) and all applicable external laws and regulations.

About you and your skills

Work Experience

  • A consistent history of delivering measurable results for both users and the business
  • Experience developing & mentoring Product Managers and contributing to the Product Chapter
  • Experience supporting digital channels in large, complex organisations; experience working in a digital-first organisation with a strong customer-centric focus
  • Experienced in communicating and rationalising product design decisions
  • Experience working in fast paced environments and comfortable with change
  • Skilled in working collaboratively with engineering, design and marketing

Commercial Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the product lifecycle, experience building and shipping consumer product experiences.
  • Understanding of the broader digital ecosystem including software development lifecycle, development methodologies (including agile), user experience design, usability and accessibility, online content strategy, etc
  • Highly collaborative, able to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Listen well. You build consensus by default, but can drive hard decisions when needed. You push the pace.
  • People enjoy working with you.
  • Skilled in translating business process and customer insights into product concepts and solutions.
  • Exceptional people management, collaboration and communication skills. Written communication that is clear and effective.
  • Tertiary Degree is preferred
