Manager Strategic Policy
You will be delivering clean energy solutions for regional growth and vibrant communities with our shared purpose, values and empowering beliefs driving our culture. This role contributes to the Horizon Power Purpose by strategically managing and guiding the identification and development of policy and strategy to support delivery of Horizon Power's energy transition priorities and grow the organization's brand and reputation.

This is a permanent full time position.

Your role will:

  • Lead Horizon Power's policy development to help shape the organisation's strategic direction and achieve alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, develop and support the implementation of strategic policy settings that position Horizon Power as an industry leader in the delivery of innovative clean energy solutions for regional Western Australia and regional and remote communities.
  • Ensure Horizon Power's policy development maintains alignment with government priorities and maximises opportunities to support optimal outcomes for customers, communities and the business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to identify and develop strategic policy settings to achieve organisational goals.
  • Present identified strategic policy settings to Horizon Power's executive team.
  • Lead the development and execution of advocacy frameworks and plans to gain support for strategic policy settings

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, politics, communications, public policy or a related field are mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of the national and Western Australian energy industry and the energy transition.
  • Strategic thinking with a demonstrated capacity to identify and develop policy opportunities to further business objectives.
  • Significant experience with stakeholder engagement, advocacy and collaboration to drive policy initiatives.
  • Demonstrated capacity to assess reputational risks and to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • An understanding of government and parliamentary processes.
