Reporting to the General Manager Asset Services, this role focuses on both strategic and tactical asset planning to ensure the delivery of safe and reliable water, wastewater, recycled water, and waste-to-energy services. The role involves overseeing planning across the entire asset lifecycle, developing integrated water management plans and place-based and nature-based solutions. You will lead climate change mitigation and adaption planning across the asset lifecycle, ensure strong and respectful relationships with Traditional Owners throughout the planning processes, and play a key role in forming business cases for Price Submissions. Additionally, you will lead a large team of people and work broadly across the Asset Services portfolio.
To be successful in this role you will be a big-picture thinker with the nous to understand ecosystem planning and nature-based solutions, and balance emerging risks and opportunities. You will be a solutions-oriented leader, with a strong appreciation for the whole asset lifecycle. With proven people leadership experience, you excel in an environment where you can engage with senior stakeholders and work effectively across the organisation. An engineering, environmental sciences or social sciences qualification will be highly regarded. With a background in an asset-rich sector or organisation, you understand and value the planning cycle from the granular details right through to the big-picture, and you’re excited to help lead Yarra Valley Water in a sustainable way.
