The Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Research will lead the scientific principles and expertise of Research for v2 food. This position will have a significant impact on long term business success.

Some duties for this role include:

• Overseeing a network of strategic fundamental and applied research programs through external agencies,  start-ups and institutes.
• Ensure programs deliver on tangible product improvements and transformations to be closer to their meat targets, to ensure these happen timeously and that IP generated is leveraged.
• Responsible in translating these scientific breakthroughs and insights into product development through collaboration with internal R&D teams.
• Responsible in managing the external scientific reputation of v2foods through engagements in congresses, seminars, research publications etc.
• Long term research projects with CSIRO and universities
• Managing the science agenda

About You

As the demands at v2food change often in this dynamic environment, we’re looking for someone that, first and foremost, is highly adaptable and can bring a tremendous amount of energy to the team. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader in food technology and product research, with extensive hands on experience in the plant-based sector.
  
Some specifics that we’d also like for you to bring to this opportunity include:

• Ph.D. degree in Food Science Technology , Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics Molecular Biology; or related field
• 10+ years of experience in leading product research team
• Extensive knowledge in Scientific Research practices and processes
• Leading senior teams to success
• Strong critical thinking and decision making skills
• Ability to analyse and interpret scientific data
• Able to deliver high-impact results
