Health & Safety Coordinator

 

Abbot Point Operations require a proactive and dynamic Health and Safety Coordinator to join our HSECQS Department to drive safety performance and support and advise the Operations Team on all facets of health and safety activities.

Driven by systems processes, you will have a thorough understanding of risk management principles as well as extensive experience with auditing, incident reporting and investigation, injury management; and rehabilitation and return to work processes. The successful candidate will have the ability to perform strongly in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Ideally, you will also have the following experience:

  • Preparation and facilitation of workshops, toolbox talks, safety communication forums and committees;
  • Facilitation of incident investigation including investigation report writing and supporting the implementation of investigation outcomes;
  • ISO 45001 Safety and Health Management Systems compliance, including auditing and review;
  • Management of Return to Work and Rehabilitation cases.
  • Management of risk in accordance with the risk management framework
  • Maintenance and management of Health and Safety and risk management records
  • Development and review of policies and procedures
  • Execution of health and safety improvement projects
  • Mentoring and engagement with key stakeholders to ensure best practice Health and Safety practices
  • Contractor management, including onboarding and risk management review
  • Health and Wellbeing Program promotion

Ideally, you will also have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications or Diploma in Workplace Occupational Health and Safety
  • Five years’ experience in a similar role, in a heavy industrial setting
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator experience
  • Qualified Trainer and Assessor (TAE40116 or equivalent), desirable
  • Port Facility Security Officer Certificate, desirable
  • Experience with Emergency Management, desirable
