The Role

The successful applicant will be required to develop plans for how Defence terrestrial radiofrequency spectrum dependent systems will operate in the spectrum landscape, as far as possible, without causing or suffering harmful interference.

The successful applicant will be required to understand the application of advanced engineering analysis tools to enhance Defence capability with respect to the use of the radiofrequency spectrum.

This jobs requires a high level of engineering and negotiation skills to engage with domestic government and industry users of the radiofrequency spectrum, and international entities that utilise the radiofrequency spectrum. This job will entail some international travel in order to engage with the International Telecommunication Union to represent Defence interests on spectrum matters as well as cooperative arrangements with Allies.

About our Team

The successful applicant will work in a team of fellow spectrum engineers and specialists that holistically manage the use of the radiofrequency spectrum by Defence at a regulatory and strategic level and providing the necessary support for operational and tactical users.

The ideal candidate will be required to be proactive in developing plans for improved use of the radiofrequency spectrum, achieve the necessary consultation to implement these plans, and drive the change required to benefit Defence.
