If you are looking for a career where your work has a profound impact on upholding our nation's security, you have come to the right place. The Defence Intelligence Organisation (DIO) is on the forefront of world-altering events. DIO provides intelligence advice to the Australian Defence Organisation and broader Government to assist in dealing with threats to Australia and its national interests. DIO identifies and assesses foreign military, political, social and cultural developments that affect the planning and conduct of Australian Defence Force operations. Issues potentially impacting upon Australian defence capability developments, or influencing Australian efforts to promote regional or international stability, are also identified and assessed.

To achieve our mission we bring together smart, focused people from a diverse range of backgrounds to create a highly effective and inclusive workforce. Our work is exciting and interesting and everyone has a strong sense of purpose. DIO believes that our people are our most valuable resource and we offer unique and highly desirable training and development opportunities to ensure your time with us is deeply rewarding, both personally and professionally. Our EL2’s play a critical leadership role in developing, coaching and mentoring our junior intelligence analysts, fostering collaboration, influencing organisational objectives and recognising and rewarding success and innovation.

If you are successful, DIO will train you in all source intelligence assessment and you will build your career within Defence and the National Intelligence Community.

From this recruitment round an EL2 merit pool may be created to fill additional future vacant positions.
