Assistant Direct General Finance and Business Management 

The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is seeking a highly motivated, outcome driven senior executive to fill the position of Assistant Director-General, Finance and Business Management, based in Canberra ACT.  

The position will report directly to the First Assistant Director-General (FADG) Corporate and will be responsible for shaping and running the newly established Finance and Business Management functions to deliver organisational outcomes across finance, contract management, and corporate planning and performance.

The role makes a critical contribution to ASD’s ability to develop and deliver its corporate planning processes, and monitor the achievement of corporate outcomes that reflect ASD’s core role and deliver improved people, resource and financial management. 

Working in a shared services environment, this role also leads the development of operating and capital budgets for internal and Government application, delivery  of financial reporting and analysis to a range of internal and external users, and provision of financial and contract support and advice for commercial transactions and major projects.  The position is responsible for providing appropriate financial compliance processes, guidance and advice to assist the achievement of ASD and unit outcomes.  This role will also be responsible for developing and sustaining effective relationships with management across ASD and external stakeholders such as Department of Defence, Department of Finance, the Australian National Audit Office and other Government entities.  Experience working within the National Intelligence Community is not required.

The remuneration package includes superannuation, an Executive Vehicle allowance and, where applicable, relocation expenses. The salary component for this position may be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing basis or for a specified term. To be eligible for engagement, an applicant must be, or intend to become, a permanent Australian citizen. This is a security-designated position. The successful applicant will be required to undergo security assessments to the highest level and must be able to be cleared to Top Secret Positive Vetting.
