Assistant Director-General Cyber Enablement 

As the Assistant Director-General Cyber Enablement you will lead the ASD’s Cyber Enablement Branch to deliver the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s (ACSC) vision to make Australia the safest place to connect online.

The successful candidate will report to the First Assistant Director-General Protect, Assure and Enable to deliver advanced technical and people capability that supports ACSC services and strategic objectives.

The position is responsible for building a strategic people pipeline for the ACSC as well as a national future capability, including leading and shaping government-related STEM and cyber security initiatives. It will position the ACSC as a world-leading technical authority through leadership of the ACSC Technical Faculty. It leads the delivery of advice and assistance to government on secure mobile solutions and high assurance services, and is responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining the infrastructure and tooling that enables ACSC business lines.

The role requires a demonstrated ability to build future organisational capability and anticipate and respond to external drivers which will impact ASD business. Knowledge and experience in the field of cyber security is highly desirable. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in project, programme and portfolio (P3) management, as well as leading a technical workforce. At a time of great change and increasing demand for cyber security services, the successful candidate will also have sound judgment to manage competing requirements in an evolving strategic environment, and a strong delivery focus with the ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships and expectations of others to achieve outcomes.

The remuneration package includes superannuation, an Executive Vehicle allowance and, where applicable, relocation expenses. The salary component for this position may be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing basis or for a specified term. To be eligible for engagement, an applicant must be, or intend to become, a permanent Australian citizen. This is a security-designated position. The successful applicant will be required to undergo security assessments to the highest level and must be able to be cleared to Top Secret Positive Vetting.
