The Role

• Fixed Term (3 years), Full Time
• $175,021 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
• Port Macquarie

This position is a strategic conjoint appointment between CSU and the Mid North Coast Local Health District of NSW Health. Given the conjoint nature of the position and the collaboration between the organisations it signifies, it is expected that the incumbent will spend time equally in each. In particular, given the distributed nature of the MNCLHD and CSU sites and facilities, an extensive amount of travel will be required.


As Strategic Professor/Conjoint Chair you will be responsible for developing the capacity of the respective organisations to conduct high quality research in the field of allied health, aligned with the strategic research plans of the respective organisations, and with the shared goal to impact on health outcomes and wellbeing of communities in the MNCLHD catchment area. You will be required to demonstrate high level leadership, communication, research facilitation and capacity building. You will also represent the two organisations and their collaborative endeavours nationally and internationally.

• Demonstrated success in building strong partnerships and collaborative relationships;
• Strong leadership and ability to build people people capability;
• Commitment to supporting multiple organisations and advancing an Allied Health Discipline and/or Allied Health and representing these interests in broader society.

Staff in the School of Community Health are committed to work with regional and rural communities to train and graduate future health professionals; we use research to find answers to community questions; and we work together to support people to become agents for positive change within their community.


The School provides students with clinical training opportunities through the operation of commercial clinics offering services in Podiatry, Speech Pathology and Physiotherapy

The Mid North Coast Local Health District includes the Local Government Areas of Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Nambucca, Kempsey and Port Macquarie-Hastings. The Mid North Coast has an increasing ageing population and a higher than NSW average Aboriginal population. Since 2011 the MNCLHD has seen the largest capital investment ever in health services for the region. Within that five-year period, MNCLHD has administered a total budget in excess of $2 billion and has demonstrated a capacity to deliver services within budget while continuing to invest in service growth and upgrade of facilities.
