The North East Link Authority will connect the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network, while increasing the capacity of the Eastern Freeway. It will slash travel times, get trucks off local roads and link key growth areas in the north and south-east. 

About the opportunity

We're moving ahead on Victoria's biggest ever road transport project and we are looking for a passionate Director, Safety to join our growing Authority.

The Director, Safety will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will lead the development and implementation of the safety function, contribute to the overall safety strategy and provide strategic advice to effectively manage legislative requirements for the project.

The role will
• contribute to and implement the Authority's strategic direction, provide organisational leadership and actively champion a positive and proactive safety culture.
• oversee the development and implementation of cutting edge safety management systems and procedures
• proactively address and advise on potential safety risks and requirements associated with managing multi-billion-dollar projects and contracts. 
• proactively establish, maintain and influence strong partnerships and ensure strategic coordination with transport agencies, emergency services and WorkSafe to gain support for safety and project decisions.

About you
If you have extensive experience managing safety requirements on major construction projects; you are passionate about driving a safety-first culture and thrive on leading a multi-disciplinary team in a complex and multi stakeholder environment this may be the ideal position for you.
