The University of South Australia seeks to further develop its contribution to and leadership in the education and employment of Australian Aboriginal peoples. The University has set itself the ambitious target of being the “University of Choice” for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and staff.

In recognition of these aspirations, we seek to establish The Professor in Aboriginal Health, who will have the unique advantage of joining a rapidly-growing, highly successful research team, and will operate across both a university and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute.  As the Professor in Aboriginal Health you will work in close collaboration with the Wardliparingga Aboriginal Research Unit located at SAHMRI as directed by Professor Alex Brown, the Chair in Aboriginal Health.

You will be a leading expert in the field of Aboriginal Health and will make a distinguished contribution to the research profile of the Institute through the development of a novel program of collaborative research supported by competitive research grant funding. 

As the Professor in Aboriginal Health you will exhibit ambition, sound motivation and demonstrably excellent research capability, and will make a significant contribution to the University’s undergraduate, honours and postgraduate research programs.  As the successful candidate you will be an established Aboriginal Health researcher with a strong record of working with community, national and international partners in collaborative research.
