Netball NSW is the peak state sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout New South Wales. Over 150,000 in total participants to enjoy netball at all levels of performance throughout NSW as the sport continues to grow both on and off the court. Netball NSW has a proud history of elite netball teams and athletes’ performances in national and international competition. Suncorp Super Netball, the top Australian domestic competition includes two NSW elite teams, the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball. Netball NSW also operates Netball Central, a purpose built venue in Sydney Olympic Park which houses the Netball NSW offices and is the training base of the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball.

Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be primarily responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all strategic and financial related activities of Netball NSW. This will include direct responsibility for finance, forecasting, business planning, corporate governance, legal, risk management, asset and property management, procurement, and information technology.

As a member of the Executive team, the CFO will provide high level strategic operational advice, leadership and direction to ensure Netball NSW's strategic priorities are well supported through the sophistication of robust and efficient systems and processes that will enhance organisational capability and capacity to drive and diversify revenue growth. The role will also provide leadership across the organisation, supporting senior managers with budget planning and management.

The CFO will work in close partnership with the CEO to ensure Netball NSW's goals and operational objectives are met, providing expert financial and strategic budget management, developing general business plans, supervising business operations and internal governance, formulating and endorsing relevant company policies and oversee venue management.

To be considered for this role you will be tertiary qualified in accounting, finance or commerce (including Membership of CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants) with strong experience in a strategic executive leadership role. You will have a proven track record in managing and growing like-sized businesses, budgets and resources, with proven strength and experience across the core functional responsibilities of leadership, governance, relationship/stakeholder management, financial accountability and commercial management.

The CFO will need to be a values driven, collaborative and empathetic leader with a reputation for swiftly building effective working relationships and the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders. You will have the conviction and courage to challenge the status quo if needed, with the negotiation, communication strategy and storytelling skills to position and inspire value proposition in order to drive positive change and achieve strategic objectives.
