The Department of Primary Industry - Water, is seeking a Band one level Director to fill the role of CEO for Dam Safety NSW. The mission of Dam Safety NSW is to ensure the safety through regulation of declared dams in NSW. You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of Dam Safety NSW and provide leadership and direction regarding compliance activities and ensure effective dam safey and emergcy planning is adhered to. Overseeing the development and implemention of dams safety standards will be critical to the role and you will be providing advice to the Minister, Chairperson and members of Dam Safety NSW.

You will have exceptional communication and stakeholder management experience as you will be working alongside the owners of declared dams and the public to ensure they are appropriately informed about dam safety standards. You will guide risk management strategies and build relationships with government and non government reseach orgnaisaions, universities and other public partners to maintain best practice dam safety methodologies. The role will directly manage a small team of professionals.
