         Program Leader - Air Combat Capability

The innovative use of existing technologies, novel application of new technologies, insightful development of new operating concepts and the application of advanced S&T will underpin Australian military aerospace leadership in developing and transitioning advanced capabilities.

The Defence Science and Technology Group is the Australian government's lead agency responsible for applying science and technology to safeguard Australia and its national interests. The DST vision is to be a world leader in defence science and technology – indispensable in transforming the Australian Defence Force and Australia’s national security.

As the Program Leader Air Combat Capability reporting to the Chief of Aerospace Division you will translate understanding of the needs and supports required by Defence across the different time horizons in the aerospace Domain, as well as the issues associated with individual technology development, systems integration and technology transitioning, and will factor such considerations into the development of the DST work program.

Using high level liaison and negotiation skills, the Program Leader will contribute to and influence the balance of investment decisions made in relevant Divisions as well as be accountable for effective maintenance of the knowledge management function associated with the Program.

We are looking for an internationally recognized science leader who will develop a wide range of internal and external relationships and strategic networks. Through these relationships, the Program Leader will influence the scientific community to ensure that necessary skills are developed as part of both the internal and external workforces to achieve current and future Defence requirements.
