Assistant Secretary Intelligence Surveillance Recon & Electronic Warfare

The Department of Defence is seeking to fill the Senior Executive Service Band 1 position of Assistant Secretary Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare in the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group. The position is based in Canberra.

The Assistant Secretary Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare is responsible for the acquisition and sustainment of electronic warfare and signals intelligence systems in both tactical and strategic domains. This includes delivering multiple project outcomes in relation to commanding the Electronic Systems to support the Australian Defence Force and the Defence Capability Plan. The Branch also provides all deployed information technology to support the Australian Defence Force.

The remuneration package includes superannuation, an Executive Vehicle allowance and, where applicable, relocation expenses. The salary component for this position may be negotiated with the successful candidate within the Defence Senior Executive Service Band 1 salary range.

Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing basis or for a specified term. To be eligible for ongoing appointment, an applicant must be, or intend to become, a permanent Australian citizen. This position is a security-designated position. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a security assessment to the appropriate level.
