Senior Education Advisor- Equal Opportunity and Human Rights, VEOHRC 

  • VPSG-6 range $109,567 - $146,622 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • Fixed Term, full time, position available Until 30 June 2018
  • Working within VEOHRC Project Unit, People Development Command, located at the Victoria Police Academy, 1 Mount View Road, Glen Waverley 3150*


About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will be accountable for providing expert advice in gender equality, power imbalance, bystander theory, leadership, victim-centric theory and risk management processes, sex discrimination and sexual harassment to the PDC VEOHRC Project Unit.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Embed workplace change and create a workplace culture in which employees feel valued, respected and able to reach their potential
  • Lead, manage and develop educational change at an organisational level to address regular workplace harm training
  • Ensure all education requirements as detailed in the Education Master Plan (EMP) are met to complement implementation of PDC VEOHRC projects
  • Lead and identify new educational learning needs, course arrangements, curriculum design and development within a complex, changing environment to meet VEOHRC Review recommendations
  • Build and sustain effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to implement required educational change
  • Provide high level expert advice and briefings to senior managers and executives on highly complex educational and business directions, policy and practice
  • Ensure current and emerging workplace harm issues and trends are integrated into Victoria Police training on a continual basis.

Skills and experience:

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of and proven experience in research, development and implementation of workforce engagement policies, strategies, and programs relating to human rights and equal opportunity.
  • Demonstrated experience at a senior level to lead and manage the development and continuous improvement of relevant high quality educational and learning programs and systems within tight timelines, budget, policy and proven ability to successfully balance competing demands. 
  • Proven experience to lead and identify educational learning needs, course arrangements, curriculum design and development including blended programs preferably within a complex changing environment
  • Proven experience to develop and implement quality evaluation systems, professional standards and effective education and training frameworks to ensure consistency and compliance with relevant legislation, standards and organisational policy.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and continuously seek new and innovative ways to shape and define the future; think at the big picture level and translate strategic direction into day to day activities.
  • Demonstrates high level of emotional intelligence through self-management and relationship building – understands strong emotional reactions and seeks ways to more effectively manage them. 
  • Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Department.
  • A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational Values.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in related field
  • Possess a current Victorian Driver Licence and hold or qualify for a White Class Driver Authority within three (3) months

Requirements and relevant information:

  • May be required to work after hours
  • May be required to work at other locations
  • Will be required to work as part of a collaborative team.


*Your usual place of work will be within the VEOHRC Project Unit, People Development Command, however you may be required to work at any other Division within the People Development Command as required.
