CSIRO's Information and Technology (IM&T) division is embarking on an ambitious portfolio of work designed to support the organisations strategy. Underpinning the portfolio is a desire for staff to have seamless, secure access to tools, systems and processes that back the delivery of world class science.

IM&T itself operates under agile and lean start up principles and provides an environment where the technology and autonomy is provided to get on with delivery.

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for end-to-end solution delivery including client engagement, solution development, end-user education and service promotion. They understand the technical capabilities of our platforms and apply these capabilities to solve line of business or research opportunities and problems.

Your duties will include:

  • Liaise with CSIRO business units to identify opportunities for process improvements and or digitalisations
  • Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts.
  • Creating functional specifications for solutions
  • Estimating costs and identifying business savings.
  • Performing requirements analysis.
  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Work with other team members, internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement, promote and support end to end solution development.
  • Develop information management frameworks that underpin solution development
  • Prepare necessary reports to keep product development and achievements visible
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery
  • Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff.

Salary: AU$121,455k - AU$142,321k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  1. 5+ years’ experience in a business analysis role or experience in a related discipline coupled with relevant training and/or certification.
  2. Demonstrated ability to harness business analysis tools and techniques especially for multi-disciplinary, complex projects
  3. Demonstrated experience in business solutions, data management or infrastructure based product development
  4. Excellent communication skills, leading and facilitating client engagement, networking and product development.
  5. Demonstrated experience in the development of solution requirements in an Agile environment
  6. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to principles of Workplace Diversity; Equal Employment Opportunity; Occupational Health, Safety and Environment; and Employee Participation.

Desirable

  1. Experience in Lean and Design Thinking methods
  2. Experience working within SAP/BW/HANA and/or Microsoft Power Platform environments

Eligibility

To be eligible to work in this role you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful applicant will be required to obtain and provide a National Police Check or equivalent. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Negative Vetting Level 1.

To enter a CSIRO site, CSIRO will require you to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (or show a valid medical exemption from vaccination). If you are unable to meet this requirement, then you must return a negative result on a Rapid Antigen Test (within 48 hours prior to attending site) and wear a face mask whilst on the CSIRO site.
