Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a transformative leader to help shape the future of a dynamic coastal City. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the three-year contract role of Planning and Development Lead is a chance to join an award-winning Council, and work in a diverse, challenging and rewarding environment while guiding the City’s growth.

The Planning and Development Lead will work closely with the Executive team, Mayor and Councillors, and will oversee Council’s planning and development services to align with the City’s development initiatives and economic objectives.

You will have:

• The abilty to drive transformational change across a large and diverse business unit;
• An excellent understanding of business issues and drivers, and an ability to demonstrate that council is 'open for business';
• An excellent understanding of the links between active, engaged communities and econmic development;
• A history of successful engagement and useful partnerships with diverse stakeholder groups, including developers, community interest groups, government stakeholders, Council and senior Council staff; and
• Experience of intergrating land-use planning, development services, regulation and community development.

Salary: An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
