Chief Executive Officer, Department of Housing and Community Development

The newly elected Northern Territory Government has signalled a clear mandate for change by announcing a reform agenda to deliver major improvements in service delivery and community outcomes. The Government now seeks to appoint an outstanding Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide contemporary leadership, drive reform and deliver ongoing stability to the Department of Housing and Community Services.  CEOs and agencies in the Northern Territory need to be agile and innovative and we are looking for leaders that thrive in such an environment.

An exciting and high impact reform commitment is in Housing and Community Development, with particular emphasis on remote communities. Greater than $1 billion has been set aside to deliver the Government’s Room to Breathe in NT policy. The CEO will deliver reform through expert strategic policy advice, value adding programs and service innovation.  Successful outcomes will include the ongoing development of towns and remote communities and the take-up of existing and new services.

This key role calls for an inclusive and contemporary leader, with a dynamic and agile approach to service delivery.  Strong capabilities in stakeholder engagement and cross-agency collaboration will support the delivery of whole of government strategy. A mindset of innovation and business improvement will be complemented by strong financial and resource management, content knowledge, and a background in policy and reform.  Proven leadership of a client-centric service culture within a diverse environment, combined with unambiguous communication, complete the ideal candidate profile.

Be one of the exceptional leaders that will shape the current direction and future success of the Northern Territory.
