The Opportunity

We're seeking a passionate retail professional to lead our NSW & ACT team to create a great customer experience and continue our strategy of a clearly differentiated offer that engages our customers and grows our business.

Our team is critical to the success of the business so your ability to develop the retail and leadership capability of 8 area managers and store management team is critical. Simplification, excellent execution and continuous improvement will be at the heart of how you deliver results.  You will be passionate about the customer and keep them top of mind in all decisions you make.

The Reject Shop is an ASX listed Australian Discount Variety retailer currently operating more than 350 stores nationally. We pride ourselves on our supportive team culture and understanding our customers, delivering the best value and variety possible. NSW & ACT has over 100 stores with further growth planned. The role reports into the GM of Operations.  We are looking for an experienced leader with energy, drive and hands-on style to lead their devoted team to success. The Successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven track record in fast paced multi-site management within the retail industry
  • A customer first approach to decision making and operational standards
  • Demonstrated effective leadership with an understanding of Recruitment, IR    and the employee life cycle
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members at all levels
  • Possesses the financial acumen to interpret a range of financial and sales reports and develop action plans to address identified areas of opportunity
  • Competent in the Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Drivers licence to travel to retail stores
  • Outstanding ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the business.
