We have an exciting opportunity for Executive Manager Corporate Services (EMCS) to provide leadership and specialist professional expertise to support Chief Operating Officer in leading and managing the corporate governance functions and in doing so, transforming the City of Darwin into a high performing capital city valued by its community. The EMCS will have primary responsibility, authority and accountability for leading and managing corporate governance functions of the Council.

You will be a manager with a proven track record in providing strategic, professional advice to internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer focussed efficient performance of corporate governance functions of Council. You'll also have a solid understanding of compliance, risk minimisation and the environment in which a council operates.
Your substantial experience in managing a team within a local government environment will enable you to deliver on key responsibilities. You'll have a good understanding of the relevant Australian Standards and other associated legislation and be able to ensure the timely preparation, accuracy and quality of correspondence, reports, briefings and other specialised documents. Your relevant tertiary qualification will also set you in good stead for this opportunity.

What we offer you
This is a five-year contract position giving you the opportunity to see the long-term results of your work with us. The salary package is $220k - $232k, including superannuation. City of Darwin offers six weeks annual leave, salary sacrifice options, and the opportunity for continuous professional development and learning. Relocation assistance may be offered to the successful candidate.
