What you'll be doingThis position is responsible for the corporate, operational, clinical and financial management of the NSRMHS and delegated positions/teams/roles.   
The Director NSRMHS has the single line of accountability for the provision of mental health services across the sector, which includes the clinical and corporate governance of the service and the effective operation/service delivery of other delegated positions/teams/roles.   

The Director is responsible for the delivery of high performing, appropriate, safe, consumer centred, efficient mental health services across the North Shore Ryde sector and where delegated with specific positions/teams/roles across the LHD ensuring there is a culture of continuous improvement and evidenced based practice.    

In consultation with the Director NSLHD MHDA, the incumbent is responsible for the planning and development of mental health services for NSRMHS and where delegated other teams/positions/roles.   

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:        

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Qualifications or extensive experience in a relevant clinical field (psychiatry, nursing, psychology, social work, occupational therapy or similar health related). Extensive senior level management experience in health care services/settings.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and experience in at all levels of the organisation with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Demonstrated time management skills including an ability to effectively organise the workload with competing priorities, limited resources and the complexities of multiple site communications and service delivery within a matrix style organisation.
  • Proven experience in successfully planning and achieving; financial, services, operational, project, workforce and strategic outcomes, incorporating current health service governance, continuous improvement and patient safety focuses whilst fostering a culture of inquiry.
  • Demonstrated experience in successful project/change management from inception through to evaluation and completion, including human resource, financial and risk management and the ability to develop, implement and evaluate associated evidence based policies and procedures
  • A demonstrated knowledge, understanding and evidentiary application of mental health National and State directions, policies, legislation and strategies
  • Current NSW motor vehicle drivers licence
