Real Value

This newly created role provides senior leadership to our national power generation function. You will be reporting to the Executive Director Merchant Energy and responsible for the profitability of this high profile business, supported by a team of 80 people.

The purpose of your role will be developing and implementing excellence in engineering and operational management, to safely meet agreed performance targets at power stations across Australia and New Zealand.

The role has responsibility for multiple functions including operations and maintenance, asset and commercial management and engineering. Key to your success will be focusing on the improvement of asset performance and the maximisation of group revenue opportunities in line with the corporate strategy.

What we’re looking for:

  • An applied science or engineering qualification
  • Formal management training and extensive experience in all aspects of the power generation industry
  • Previous accountability for financial results in a large business within the Australian energy market
  • A high level of commercial and business acumen is essential to assess opportunities in terms of costs, profits, markets and added value

Importantly, you will demonstrate the potential – engagement, aspiration and ability – to be considered as part of succession planning for future executive management opportunities. Your ability to set a benchmark for people leadership, promote a culture of Zero Harm and ensure our values are demonstrably “lived” within the business will be the key to success.
