Remuneration: An attractive salary package is on offer, plus full private use of a Council vehicle and 13% superannuation.

Role overview and what we are looking for

Gympie Regional Council provides water and sewerage services to over 30,000 residents. It is embarking on a major reform program and requires an Executive Manager, Water Business Unit to lead the process.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced water and sewerage professional with a track record in the industry to build a modern water and sewerage business which is customer focused and underpinned by strong and sustainable business principles.

The position requires the successful candidate to have exceptional leadership abilities with a collaborative, engaging and inclusive style, demonstrated abilities in fostering a positive, innovative and dynamic team, and the ability to provide the development of key strategies to achieve the community’s regional vision balanced with Council’s aspirations.  This will be clearly defined through your implementation of key initiatives, projects and service delivery activities.

To be considered for this role we require you to:

  • possess tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, environment management or a related discipline,
  • demonstrate a successful 10 years’ experience at senior Local Government management or executive level
  • demonstrate your success in leading a Water and Sewerage business through the motivation of staff and the development of an integrated team culture.
