Job Description

As the Finance Manager you'll provide leadership and guidance to the Financial Accounting and Management Accounting teams.

Success in this position will look like:

  • A successfull business partner model through strong relationships, exceptional customer experiences, engaging and meaningful presentation of data, and expert advice 
  • Accurate and efficient delivery of the annual budget and planning process, annual long-term financial plan and annual audit process
  • A culture of continuous improvement
  • Innovative solutions and strategies to the management of Council's finances 
  • Reduced financial management threats or opportunities, with a proactive approach to their identification and impactful risk management practices 

This is a new position in our growing Finance Department, with a total remuneration package of approx $160k (including 10% super) + a monthly day off arrangement. Consideration may be given to part time arrangements of 28+ hours per week. 

Desired Skills and Experience

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • Effective methods for building strong and cohesive team environments, and bringing the best out of your staff 
  • Experience in senior financial positions implementing best practice financial management 
  • A history of engaging a variety of stakeholders and using those relationships to drive improvements, compliance, and efficiencies 
  • Professional finance qualifications such as CA, CPA or equivalent 
  • Well-developed interpretation, analysis, time management and communication skills
