This is an exciting opportunity to bring your Procurement expertise and people leadership skills together to influence change across the organisation and our community.

Located in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, Moreland City Council provides local government services to over 160,000 residents from diverse backgrounds. Located at the Coburg Civic Centre and forming a key element of the Finance and Business Systems Branch, this role offers the opportunity to shape Council’s procurement practice to ensure best value for the community and best practice for sustainability and compliance.

As part of the Finance leadership team and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will have considerable procurement experience including experience in tendering, sourcing, negotiating and managing high value contracts. You will also be able to provide support, advice and deliver on procurement activities and have the ability to negotiate and develop working relationships with internal Departments, other Local Councils and other relevant agencies.

You will lead and manage the accounts payable function, ensuring compliance with organisational framework and ATO requirements and develop strategies and policies to achieve effective organisational outcomes within budget.

To be successful in this role you will be a progressive, values-based manager with a collaborative approach and a strong background in procurement or financial services and have demonstrated experience in a leadership role with a proven track record in providing high quality strategic advice.
