Chief Executive Officer

The City of Melville has long stood out as one of Western Australia’s leading Local Governments. With an Annual Revenue Budget of $178 million and a $1 Billion Balance Sheet, a population of 100,000 + people, it is also one of the State’s largest. It is beautifully positioned 8kms from the Perth CBD, and occupies 18kms of foreshore of the Swan and Canning Rivers.

The current CEO retires after 10 very successful years at the helm and leaves the organisation in a very sound position. Council looks forward to continuing the journey with the next CEO, someone who must continue to set the bar very high in terms of community consultation and engagement, innovation, service delivery, best practice, negotiation and advocacy, and  corporate governance.

Like most Local Governments, the City continues to manage a range of challenging issues. The incoming CEO will need outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, resilience, a strong focus on best practice and the highest level of integrity, ethics and a prudential approach to business management. The City recognises that to be sustainable in the long term, the organisation needs to investigate and develop alternative revenue sources.

Council will offer a contract of employment of up to five years duration, with a total annual remuneration package to be negotiated within the SAT’s Band 1 range for Local Government CEO’s up to $375,774.
