About the Role

As head of our People and Culture department this role leads the organisation as we adapt to the rapid changes a modern world brings to the workforce.

 

With over 1000 employees delivering more than 100 community services, we offer a dynamic and diverse work place where we take pride in achieving the best for the community. You will lead a team of specialist HR and Risk partners and advisors who support a range of business units that cover everything from maternal health to aged services, parks and gardens to rubbish collection within a large and professional corporate services directorate.

 

People and Culture provides strategic, tactical and operational employee relations, industrial relations, risk and safety and organisational development support to the business through excellent service and trusted advice. It has a clear focus on adding value to Council's senior management team and organisational culture through a range of strategies and initiatives. As Manager, you will inspire and develop a team of talented and dedicated staff while progressing your career in this critical leadership position.

 

To be our successful applicant, you will be a highly experienced HR specialist who is strategic in your approach with proven leadership skills. You will be able to demonstrate broad experience in delivering significant organisational development and cultural initiatives in a complex environment, experience in industrial relations, including the interpretation and application of employment law, providing pragmatic solutions  and advice and dispute resolution. You will have a track record of developing strong business relationships internally and demonstrated experience of being able to strategically influence stakeholders at all levels.
