  • Continuing part-time 0.4 FTE, Remuneration package, $123k - $146k p.a which includes leave loading and up to 17% superannuation pro-rated

About the opportunity 

The successful applicant will have both a research and teaching role in the CHW Clinical school. Key teaching responsibilities include Sydney Medical School students (mostly in the Child and Adolescent Health curriculum with limited involvement in earlier stages) and post graduate coursework in the Master of Medicine (Paediatrics).

About you

  • MBBS, or equivalent
  • fellow or Advanced Trainee with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or other specialist recognition as provided for under the Health Insurance Act 1973
  • phd or equivalent and a demonstrated successful research record with evidence of an upward trajectory in research performance
  • highly developed organisational skills, project management skills, interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills and computer literacy
  • demonstrated excellence in teaching medical students in multiple methods.

About us

The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is a teaching hospital of the University of Sydney. There is a strong presence in the hospital of Clinical Academics who are international leaders in education (undergraduate, postgraduate, professional), clinical service, advocacy and research. The CHW Clinical School also looks after the academic needs of over 300 members of the Discipline of Child and Adolescent Health with conjoint and clinical academic appointments. The CHW Clinical School provides teaching on site for over 500 medical students per year – including 70-80 medical students per term – 4 times per year, 30 elective students, several dozen MD research students, and 20-30 Honours students per annum. In addition there are currently 100 postgraduate students all performing research relevant to Child and Adolescent Health.
