About the opportunity 

The Senior Lecturer - Academic Lead (Inter-professional Learning) is responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of the education program for students from a range of health disciplines. This includes the establishment and operation of rural placements and educational activities that provide students with a rich educational experience relevant to rural health and the values of the UCRH. The incumbent will work with academic leads of other disciplines (such as medicine and Indigenous health) and with service providers and community advocates for the betterment of services and the development of a broad and integrated health workforce.

• a degree in a discipline of Health Science with extensive experience in clinical, education or managerial roles in health
• demonstrated understanding of the principles of anti-discrimination, staff and student equity, work health and safety and other relevant legislation
• commitment to the development of rural workforce and service of populations that have higher health needs and/or difficulty of access to health services
• experience in development and delivery of education programs
• proven experience to manage and work within a team.

The UCRH education program encompasses a range of allied health disciplines, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy and medicine. We provide students with clinical placement opportunities and structured learning programs in a multi-disciplinary environment, and with a focus on rural health and social equity. The education program is delivered on behalf of the Commonwealth’s Rural Health Multi-Disciplinary Training program.
