About the opportunity 

In direct support of the University’s 2016-20 Strategic Plan, we are embarking on a transformation of our enterprise systems to improve the quality, and connectedness of the end-user experience for our staff and students. The primary areas of focus will be to rationalise the number of systems and remove duplication, wherever possible. The long-term aim is to create a personalised and customisable digital experience with increased integration of key systems, and enhanced mobility of access to information and tasks.

A number of key roles will be recruited to lead, manage and support the digital transformation journey.  One of which is an Enterprise Test Manager

The Enterprise Test Manager is responsible for the management of testing for University of Sydney. The scope of this role is to proactively lead the Testing team through planning, monitoring, and control of the testing activities, this includes defining test objectives, policies, strategies and plans in conjunction with ICT and stakeholders.

  • lead, manage and provide guidance to the Testing team so as to manage and resolve in a timely manner, issues related to testing
  • coordinate the production and approval of all testing deliverables and achievement of testing milestones during a project or release
  • ensure any risks associated with the agreed test strategy and test plans are clearly documented and described to  project staff and users
  • provide coaching and mentoring to the Enterprise Testing team to promote their professional development and facilitate the achievement of quality test outcomes.
  • ensure professional interactions with stakeholders to foster positive University perceptions of the Enterprise Testing Team

The Enterprise Test Manager will work to improve product quality by overseeing the Testing team in the preparation of test plans and the testing of software to agreed guidelines and standards. Success in this role will require liaison across a broad range of University stakeholder groups and taking a proactive, hands-on management role to drive the planning, design, quality assurance and implementation of testing in-line with program strategy and timeframes, and to deliver high quality, on-time testing outcomes.
