Eastern Health seeks to appoint to the full time, position of Director of the Eastern Health Medical Workforce Unit (MWU). The position would suit an individual who already has extensive experience in Medical Workforce Management or alternatively who has high level management and/or Human Resource skills. 

Eastern Health is the largest public health provider in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, providing a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential and community health services. The organization serves a local community which is diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, and healthcare needs. 

The Eastern Health MWU consists of a team of 12 employees. It provides service to over 1,000 senior and junior medical staff as well as providing support and guidance to Eastern Health directorates in regards to the recruitment, appointment credentialing and payment of medical staff. 

The appointee will oversee the management of the service across the network in accordance with the position description. They will work closely with, and report to, the Executive Director of Medical Services. They will be expected to assist in strategic planning to ensure the current and future effective delivery of the medical services to the Eastern region. 

Experience in workforce management, service redesign and a commitment to building a strong MWU team are desirable qualities.
