Ambulance Victoria (AV) currently has an opportunity for a Network Solution Architect to join our ICT Governance Team. This is a full time, fixed term role until 30 June 2021. The position is located at our Blackburn North business centre, (initially this may involve a combination of working from home and onsite).
About the role
As the Network Solution Architect you will look at the big picture, utilising your network management expertise to design and implement new complex network, voice and security solutions as part of the Ambulance Victoria strategic ICT roadmap. Providing specialised technical leadership to ensure any new architecture and design is fit-for-purpose across multiple technology domains.
Reporting to the Senior ICT Program Architect, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Architect and design new complex network, voice and security solutions as part of the Ambulance Victoria strategic ICT Roadmap, involving vendor and customer engagement to ensure networks and data remain secure at all times and are in line with regulatory guidelines.
- Lead progressive design solution options that are fit for purpose, aligned with enterprise architecture and network design principles, including new technology that provides optimal solution and enterprise architecture to enhance operational service delivery developing key requirements for Transition to Support, Deployment Packages, Software Releases and Upgrades.
- Strategically implement and deliver high quality architecture services and design networks to proactively monitor capacity, operation and availability.
- For new technologies define a solution delivery plan encompassing implementation, integration, migration, testing and support, specifically leading technical oversight, escalations and problem solving, vendor management, option analysis and quality assurance.
This role will suit you if you are recognised as a subject matter expert, a Network Solution Architect who can design efficient, cost effective network infrastructures. You have proven ability in developing, supporting and guiding of network domains, current and future state architectures, roadmaps across traditional data centres, wired/wireless LAN and multi cloud. In addition to this you will have strong analytical and problem solving skills that ensure a solution is developed.
To be successful in the role should have:
A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or other relevant qualifications; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
Established experience in architecture, design, delivery and governance, network security and unified communications with strong knowledge of defining and maintaining architecture principles, patterns and standards.
Comprehensive knowledge in, and use of, WAN and LAN routing protocols, software defined networking methods and concepts, cloud networking and connectivity, with platform usage across Cisco ASA, FTD, Nexus, ISR, ASR, CUCM, Webex, Umbrella, VMWare, F5 and Azure.
Demonstrated ability to analyse issues, solve problems and make decisions by applying high-level judgement, taking into consideration objectives and risks to projects and business processes.

The successful candidate must have a current Victorian Driver's License and when required, be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria and the completion of a mandatory Police Check.
AV has introduced salary bands and this position is graded at AV6. The AV grade salary range for an AV6 position is $144,341 to $165,712 plus 9.5% superannuation. The expectation is that employees will commence at the base of the grade applicable to a position.
